Workshop facilitation, interviewing, business modelling:

• process modelling: current and “to be” down to elementary business process model level;

• logical data modelling;

• organisation modelling (including business roles);

• location modelling. 

Development of technical architecture

Development of conceptual, logical and physical technology and application models to complement the business models.

Model management and maintenance

•  Ownership of process, data, location, organisation, technology and application models;

•  Models update using data produced as result of business model or technical architecture development,

•  Model version control;

•  Definition of standards for model maintenance and control;

•  Development of processes for model maintenance.

Modelling standards definition

•  Selection of business modelling methods particularly for process modelling;

•  Definition of business and technical architecture modelling standards;

•  Mentoring in business and technical modelling.

Business change coordination (day to day operations)

Performing the role of Business Change Coordinator post implementation of The Wedge framework.  This should really be a permanent role but, for a period of time, could be performed by a BCML consultant or BCML could provide mentoring service.

Business architecture (day to day operations)

Performing the role of Business Architect post and/or during the implementation of the Wedge framework.

Change definition

•  Holistic definition of change initiatives scope;

•  Mapping of change initiatives areas of overlaps;

•  Mapping of initiatives affecting processes, i.e. for each process all initiatives affecting it.

Business continuity support

• Definition of disaster recovery processes;

• Definition of minimum operational processes to be run in the case of disaster;

• Integration of fall back process for disaster recovery with technical and data recovery;

• Disaster risk management.

Programme management

• Provision of the environment for several concurrent and interlinked projects to successfully produce agreed deliverables;

• Resolution or escalation of inter-project issues and risk mitigation;

• Advice on programme management and related issues.

Project management

•  Provision of the environment for the project team to successfully produce the agreed project deliverables;

•  Advice and mentoring on project management.

 Project planning

•  Creation and maintenance of project plans;

•  Advice on project planning tools and techniques.

 Application design

•  Development of application/system functions models to level sufficient for the developers to program;

•  Development of physical data models.

Application development

•  Development and testing (down to and including UAT) of new applications;

•  Development and testing (down to and including UAT) of enhancements/changes to existing applications;

•  Bug fixing.
